Hello Everyone!
We are working hard in first grade to prepare for second grade! The children are learning new skills and concepts each week and using the skills they've learned throughout the year. So many students are making great progress with reading and writing! Our math concepts are getting more difficult, and they are trying very hard to grasp these concepts. We are working on tens and ones in math. In phonics and grammar we are learning about adjectives, adding -er and -est to words, long e /ea/ sound in words. We are reading more difficult stories in our 4th reading book of the year!
Thank you to all who are supporting your children at home! It is apparent they are getting the necessary reinforcement to be able to retain the information being learned in the classroom.

St. Patrick's DayWe will have a SMALL celebration for St. Patrick's Day, with shamrock shakes and cookies. More details to follow.
Being Prepared!I would like to request that you help your child to be prepared each day so he/she can be successful in school. Having their bookbag, folder, homework, lunch, proper attire for the weather, etc. is so important. These little guys worry so much if they don't have what they need each day! Thank you for your cooperation.
